HMCS Snowberry, WW2 Flower Class Corvette. High quality Giclée fine art print framed with certificate of authenticity.

£75.00

Framed high quality Giclée fine art print from an original painting by Gary Lambourne.

HMCS Snowberry was a Flower Class Corvette, completed in May 1941, and used during World War 2. Built in Canada, originally for the Royal Navy, HMCS Snowberry was instead loaned to the Royal Canadian Navy for the duration of the war. HMCS Snowberry was used as a convoy escort and submarine hunter operating throughout the North Atlantic ocean, including the British Isles, the coast of North America, Canada and Iceland. HMCS Snowberry survived the war and was sold for scrap in 1947.

The Flower Class Corvettes were an emergency class of escort ship, based on a commercial hull design, and designed to be easy to manufacture in large numbers. Several hundred were built in shipyards across the UK and Canada, all designed to protect merchant ships by detecting and hunting for enemy submarines. After the war they became surplus to requirements, and today only one remains preserved as a museum ship in Canada.

This high quality Giclée fine art print is taken from an acrylic painting on canvas board by Gary Lambourne, which was completed in 2022. The print is made using archival quality ink on heavyweight cotton paper, using a professional Canon Lucia EX art printer. Each print comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist.

Framed using a Rosewood and Gold effect frame with safety styrene instead of glass. The external measurements of the frame are 445mm wide by 283mm high.
